Unlock Creativity and Leadership: Explore Exciting Extracurricular Activities at St. Francis Solanus School
At St. Francis Solanus School, we understand the importance of nurturing well-rounded individuals and providing a variety of opportunities for personal growth and development. Our diverse range of extracurricular activities, from Altar Servers and After School Art Club to Performing Arts and Student Council, ensures that every student can find an outlet to explore their interests, develop their talents, and connect with their peers. Through our programs, students will gain valuable skills, experience teamwork, and forge lasting friendships while contributing to our vibrant school community.
5th through 8th grade students may serve the parish by assisting as altar servers during Mass. Participating students must complete a training program.
After School Art Club
Each week, students create art projects by painting, sculpting, drawing, and more. Twenty spots are available and registration is open prior to each semester.
Builders Club (Kiwanis)
Students cultivate self-awareness, explore their passion for service, enhance leadership skills, and improve collaboration. Commitment to school and community service becomes an integral part of their lives.
6th through 8th grade students may participate in a spring drama production. St. Francis Solanus School also offers an annual Christmas program.
Parochial Music Organization (PMO) Band
Instrumental education and performance opportunities for 5th through 8th grade students are available through the PMO Band program. The band consists of students from the parochial schools in Quincy and meet under the direction of the Quincy Notre Dame band teacher. St. Francis Solanus School students also receive instruction at our school on specified days.
Parochial Music Organization (PMO) Choir
Choral education and performance opportunities for 5th through 8th grade students are available through the PMO Choir program. The choir consists of students from the parochial schools in Quincy. They meet at Quincy Notre Dame under the direction of the Q.N.D. choral director.
Both Girl Scout and Cub Scout organizations are active at many grade levels. Each troop or den meets at the time and frequency determined by their leader. Cub Scouts hold regular Pack meetings and annual events such as campouts, pinewood derby, and other activities. The scouting program helps build character, trains students in the responsibilities of participating in citizenship, and develops personal fitness.
A student leadership organization for 6th through 8th graders, the Student Council provides student-led community service and activities for the school.
During our meetings, we play games, break into small groups, do corporal works projects, and have fellowship time together. We are truly honored to lead your kids in faith formation here at St. Francis. Learn More About St. Francis Parish Youth Group.
