Become An Altar Server – Training Sessions In July

St. Francis Solanus Church is offering altar server training for students who meet the following criteria and wish to become a new server:

-The child is a member of St. Francis Solanus Parish.  The child does not have to be a student at St. Francis Solanus School.

-The child is entering fourth through eighth grade.

-The child is a practicing Catholic who has recieved the sacraments of confirmation and first communion.

-The child is willing to serve some weekend and school Masses (if a SFSS student).  Families  specify which weekend Mass they usually attend.

Each training session is limited to six children. The child only needs to attend one session.   Deacon Wayne Zimmerman is teaching the classes.

Choose a training session:

Monday,  July 13  5:00-6:30pm 

Tuesday, July 14   2:00-3:30pm 

Saturday, July 18   9:00-10:30am 

A parent or grandparent must stay at the training to fit the cassock and surplice to the child.

The child will be with experienced altar servers at Masses until he or she is comfortable with all of the tasks a server assists with at a Mass.
