Bills from 2023-2024 School Year
This is a reminder that all lunch, child care, and incidental bills are due in FACTS on Friday, May 31. Failure to pay 2023-2024 bills will halt school enrollment for 2024-2025.
Tuition for 2024-2025
The first tuition payment, or the lump sum of tuition, is due on June 30, 2024. Please check FACTS for the most recent information. Payments must be made in FACTS Tuition Management Program.
Free Lunches for Children this Summer
The National School Lunch Program participant, Quincy Public Schools is offering free lunches to children in Quincy between the ages of one and 18 years old. The meals are frozen so they can be prepared in a microwave. There are no income requirements. There are two sites this summer:
Baldwin School June 5 through July 28 11:00am to 12:00pm
Blessed Sacrament School June 12 through August 4 12:00-1:00pm
St. Francis Solanus Parish Food Pantry Open
If any school family is in need of food or personal care items this summer, please call the parish food pantry at 217-430-1025. They would be glad to help.

Gene Grawe Fund
Remember to use the Gene Grawe Fund and Raise Right app this summer to help lower your tuition bill for 2025-2026. The office is inside St. Peter Church narthex.
Health Exams Required for 2024-2025
If your student needs health exams, we advise you to schedule them now. All exams need to be on the Illinois Department of Public Health forms, as well as signed by one of the accepted medical professionals. The dates listed are when forms need to be in the school office.
Kindergarten students need a physical exam, dental exam, eye exam and up-to-date immunizations by September 1, 2024.
Second Grade students need a dental exam by September 1, 2024.
Sixth Grade students need a physical exam by September 1, 2024
Ninth Grade students need physical and dental exams with up-to-date immunizations.
Any objections to immunizations need to be on the form from the Illinois Department of Public Health website. The form must be completely filled out for each student, then signed by one of the accepted medical professionals.
If you child participates in Illinois Elementary School Association sports, a sports physical will be needed. Many local medical offices are providing those for free. Sports physicals cannot be substituted for full school-required physical exams required by the State of Illinois.
Family School Agreement Cards
Families will need to sign the red St. Francis Solanus Parish cards and turn them in at Mass in the collection beginning July 6 or 7, 2024. Red FSA cards were sent home with a letter in May. Cards will be available in area churches as well.
St. Francis Solanus School Office Summer Office Hours
St. Francis Solanus School office is open to the public on Mondays in June from 8:00am-12:00pm.
The school office is closed in July.
Someone will be at school during regular office hours beginning August 1, 2024.

MWSC School Supply Kits
PTO at SFSS is again partnering with MWSC School supply to offer customized school supply kits for every grade level at SFSS. The kits will be delivered before Blessing of the Backpacks. Families are under no obligation to buy the kits, but many find it convenient. A link will be sent soon.
A school supply list will be emailed later this summer. It will also be on the parish and school website later in June.
Dress Code Color
The principals have discussed that the QCES dress code is complex and lengthy. There have been discussions on how to simplify it. At a recent meeting, there was an agree then to remove the color “forest green” because of the many interpretations of this color. Parents have made it clear that they do not support the removal of this color. The principals are meeting in early June. This topic of dress code colors is being brought up for discussion again after parent input. QCES principals will issue a statement jointly in mid-June. Please do not get rid of dress code clothing items in this forest green color.
