The National Eucharistic Pilgrimage is coming to seven cities in our diocese from July 8-12! This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience where Catholics will pray and publicly follow Jesus through Eucharistic processions. Cities include Collinsville, Alton, Quincy, Girard, Springfield, Effingham, and Teutopolis. Adoration, potluck dinners, and powerful witness talks are also part of the experience.
The Quincy part of the celebration includes a procession on Tuesday, July 9 to the grave of Father Augustus Tolton, beginning at 5:30 p.m. from St. Peter Church. Evening prayer and benediction will start at 6:30 at St. Peter Cemetery. At 7:30 p.m., St. Francis will host a potluck and witness talks followed by adoration at 8:30. Participants are asked to please R.S.V.P. for each event at dio.org/procession.
For the potluck at St. Francis, we are looking for parishioners to donate a dish, side, or dessert to pass. If you would like to contribute, please call the parish office at 217-222-2898 and stay tuned for further sign-up information. Thank you!
