Introducing the Society of St. John Paul II – Saturday, May 29th – 6:30 p.m.

The first meeting of the Society of St. John Paul II will be meeting at 6:30 pm Saturday on the rectory patio area. Bring a bible!
St. Francis Parish is happy to announce the start of a new group for high schoolers, the Society of St. Pope John Paul II. The aim of this group is to provide a space for high schoolers who want a place to form friendships centered on Christ and to grow in their faith. The meetings will begin with Lectio Divina, Bible Study, or some other formation tool to emphasize intentional discipleship. The formation portion will be followed with fellowship- games, movies, cookouts, you name it! Everyone from incoming freshmen to outgoing seniors are invited to participate in this group.
Why is the group’s namesake St. John Paul II? This is because of the incredible impact that he had (and continues to have) on the lives of young people. He was well-known for having fantastic relationships with the youth he came into contact with, starting a group called the Rodzinka in Krakow, where he served as chaplain for many students. The group- which was structured much like this one- inspired JPII’s founding of World Youth Day, a conference held biannually for young people around the world. May he intercede for all the youth in our parish, that their hearts and minds may be open to accepting the Lord’s will for them.
