From Our Pastor: Who Do You Say That I Am? A Call to Surrender and Follow Christ
Who do you say that I am? This is the pinnacle question to all of us. Who is Jesus? Is He just a good teacher? Or a nice guy? Or a prophet? Or a Holy man? If you think Jesus is Lord then we must take all this with utmost seriousness and follow Him. Stop thinking with the mind of the world and think with the mind of God. Surrender yourself and take up your cross and follow Him. The church is not a democracy. The church does not ask us to vote for where He leads us. We must be ready for everything to change at every moment or we really are not following Him, then we are following ourselves. Surrender. Be obedient. And follow Jesus Christ. It’s not comfortable and He never promised us it would be. He promised us the cross but the cross leads to the resurrection. Who do you say that I am? Let us believe Him in who He says He is. Die to yourself. Live for Him. This is how the life of stewardship is focused. As we renew our time talent and treasure...As we renew our hospitality, formation, service, and prayer...then we are taking this moment to recommit ourselves to Him. It isn’t easy, but He never promised us it would be. So let Him form our hearts in this time of renewal.
