From Our Pastor: Where He Goes, We Follow
This weekend we hear about the remnant of Israel and return from exile, the priesthood of Melchizedek, and the story of Bartimaeus. God is calling His people, the new Israel the Church, out of the exile of their walk in this life to the promised land. He has made this possible through the priesthood of Jesus Christ in the order of Melchizedek. Bartimaeus is our story...Jesus calls us by name to get up and respond to Him, to ask for what we need in our faith...to SEE! May we have faith in Christ in the example of this man Bartimaeus, may we cry out to Jesus the Son of David to heal us and help us see and follow. For as we follow, we follow our great high priest Jesus Christ who leads us out of this exile and into our homeland... our promised land...leads us into Heaven. Where He goes, we follow.
Coming up, December 1 and 2, we will have an advent parish mission with a great speaker, singer, and song writer, Luke Spehar. Yes, it’s crazy to think that advent is on its way. Keep those dates on your calendar. Also, throughout the month of November we will be confirming the sixth, seventh, and eighth graders to catch up with the re-ordering of the sacraments. Please keep these young people in your prayers as they prepare for this indwelling of the Holy Spirit and may be opened to how He longs to work in their lives. It is a very exciting moment in the life of our parish to awaken the Holy Spirit in our midst in these young people! This is a time of great renewal and joy for our parish!
