From Our Pastor: The Most Holy Trinity
We are called to follow the commandments today and sent forth proclaiming the gospel. We are called to make disciples of all nations and baptize all peoples. You, the church, are called to do just this. Tell others of what Christ has done for you and that He desires to do the same for them! Invite them to come to know Jesus and be baptized. This is Trinity Sunday. The weekend we are grateful for the relationality of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit because it means we too can enter into that relationship! What a privilege.
I want to thank the parish council for throwing a wonderful event to celebrate my tenth anniversary in the priesthood. I want to thank all those who made that event a joy, including our Holy Name men for cooking such great chicken! Thank you to all those that came! My family just loved meeting you all and are still talking about the experience. Thank you also to those that brought cards and gifts. Your kind messages really were so encouraging. I did this event to encourage more vocations, but honestly it was so encouraging to me of my vocation. It was an unexpected boost that I didn’t realize I needed. Thank you to you all for your kind words.
School is out! Thank you to our principal, faculty, and staff for their wonderful work. Enjoy a well deserved rest.
Lastly please pray for all our guys being ordained priests this weekend at the Cathedral, including our very own Fr. Bruce Scott. Pray for them as they begin their priesthood and nervously celebrate their masses of thanksgiving. What a joy it will be to see these guys I’ve known since the beginning of their consideration of priesthood for some of them and as I’ve gotten to walk with them. I am so excited to see these new priests start their ministry and touch so many lives. Pray for them!
