From Our Pastor: June 13, 2021
This past week Fr. David and I were on retreat with the other priests of the Diocese. It was a joy to gather and pause from our busy lives and rest in the Lord with one another. It is so refreshing to be with young and old priests alike. To be with newly ordained and guys who have been ordained for a long time. To be able to pick the brains of those with the lived experiences and histories is awesome. To hear their stories and wisdom from the many years of priesthood this week is truly a gift. Thank you to all of you for allowing us to be away and thank you to Fr. Bob Barko for covering us this week so we still can have weekday Mass.
Please don't forget about the magic match ACSA challenge before the end of June! We have an amazing opportunity to keep us from having this debt hang over into the next fiscal year. Please help us meet our goal! This Saturday was the parish picnic! Thank you to everyone who worked on the picnic committee and put in the countless hours to make this successful! Thank you to all those who volunteered their time during the picnic to make it possible! Thank you to our couple who chaired the picnic this year, Gabriel and Kelly Wheeler! It is a lot of work and stress, and I can't thank them enough! To those who dunked me in the dunk tank, the Lord teaches me forgiveness, especially if it's going to a good cause (but you could have missed on purpose too). Thank you to all of you for coming out to have a good time and support our school with this event! It was such a blast!
This Saturday, June 12 in the morning, the diocese ordained its newest priest, Fr. Christopher Trummer! Keep him in your prayers as he begins his priestly ministry. He will head back to Rome this year to finish his advanced degree in Morality.
Let us continue to pray for the 6-to-be ordained deacons June 26, especially our future deacon here, Dennis Holbrook. I would really like to encourage people from the parish to attend this event and carpool over. If you are not able to attend, please take the opportunity to watch it on livestream! We will have the exact link closer to the date, on FB and the parish website. It will be livestreamed from the Diocesan Facebook and YouTube. FYI: this is our ACSA dollars to such good use educating and forming priests and deacons. SO much excitement in our parish!
