From Our Pastor: Feast of Christ the King
You say I am a king. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice. This conversation with Pilate is rich. Jesus is abundantly clear who He is, but yet not answering directly as Pilate is asking because the kingship Pilate is talking about is worldly, and the kingship Christ is speaking of is heavenly. As we end the church year, we come to the fulfillment of all in Christ’s eternal kingship. Let us open our hearts for Him to reign forever.
This next week is Advent. As we make all kinds of preparations for Christmas, make all kinds of preparations for Christ to reign more victoriously in your heart. Like Lent, find some penitential practice. Maybe giving something up, but also, what extra spiritual practice are you going to do this Advent to prepare yourself for His coming—not just at Christmas but at the end of time as King of Glory.
May you all have a happy and grateful Thanksgiving! Safe travels to you. God bless you and your families. Happy Thanksgiving!
