From Our Pastor: 2nd Sunday of Advent
Notes from Fr. Arisman:
In the upcoming winter months we will get snow again. So as a reminder, please do your best to use the areas that have been plowed, cleared and salted. The west front steps of the church after a large snow will not be completely cleared. The northwest and southwest doors will be cleared but not the large middle door. Please use the sections cleared and know the middle door will not only be snowy and icy but the door will remain locked to discourage its use. Use any other entrance or exit please. This saves a lot of labor to clean off all the steps. Lastly, if there are any cancellations of events that need to happen, please make sure you download the myparish app and have it set up for notifications as we will send out a blast on that app about church event cancellations. We will also post on Facebook and use the parish website. If you have a question about if an event is happening please check before risking coming out. Again, the myparish app is the best place to receive those last minute cancellations, as well as all kinds of helpful spiritual and practical materials.
Lastly, please stop taking the “music issue” (formerly called Breaking Bread) song books home and please stop taking the “Pray Together” books home from church. These must be left here for everyone to use, otherwise it is stealing at this point. I know during Covid you were encouraged to take them but that practice needs to end as we can’t keep enough here in the pews any longer, which is the purpose of purchasing these books. If you want to order one for you to keep or to take to someone homebound, you can directly from PAM printers or you can order something like the Magnificat daily readings books. Please do not remove those books from the church. If you have already done so, please return them as soon as possible, as so many have already been taken. Please help us keep our church books available for all to use by leaving them always here.
