St. Francis School Newsletter – November 24, 2017

Morning drop off: Please remember that students dropped off before 8:00 a.m. will be directed to go to Morning Care and you will be charged for this service. We have noticed children being dropped off early and they are unsupervised.  Please refer to the handbook if you have any questions.  Thank you.

Winter time: Please make sure your child has the appropriate clothing on for recess. They will go outside if the wind chill is 34 degrees or above.

Jeff and Shannon Zanger are going to Haiti from December 1-5 to assist with everyday living at the Maison Des Enfants De Dieu Orphanage in Port au Prince.  The orphanage has a wish list of needed items, and the Zangers would like to bring some of those items to Haiti when they go.

If you are interested in donating, you may drop the items off at St. Francis School by Wednesday, November 29. There will be a donation box by the gym door.

Items include: diapers, formula, peanut butter, medicine (Advil, tums, cough syrup, band aids, peroxide, etc.), powdered milk, bar soap, baby powder, tooth paste, tooth brushes.

The orphanage also has a Christmas wish list for the children.  That list includes: small toy cars, beach balls, hair accessories (bows, headbands, beads, hair ties), bubbles, coloring books, stuffed animals, barbie dolls, flip flops, Santa hats, jump ropes, gift bags/tissue paper/name tags for 70 children.

Join the choirs of Quincy Notre Dame and the Parochial Music Organization for a Chistmas Choral Concert, “Christmas With Friends IX” on Monday, December 11 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Peter Church.

125 students in grades 4-12, from five Quincy parochial schools and QND, comprise the QND Concert Chorale, Mixed Chorus, Madrigal Choir, Women’s and Men’s Glees, and PMO Concert and Cadet Choirs. All ensembles are conducted by Monica Scholz and accompanied by Robert March. Free-will offerings will be gratefull acceptied at the door. NEW LUNCH TICKETS: All students now have a plastic lunch card with their photo, teacher name, and ID number on them.  If a student loses or damages the card, there will be a $5 replacement fee.  This fee will show up on the lunch accounting statement.  If you have any questions, please call the school office.

CHANGE CANCER DONATIONS: If you are interested in donating either with a raffle item or monitory donation, it would be greatly appreciated.


LUNCH BILLS/SERVICE HOURS: Please note that all Lunch Bills should be paid in full by December15th or at a positive balance.  And if you have any service hours that need to be logged other than Playground duty, please let the school office know so they can be counted.  Thank you for your cooperation.


EXTRA COOKIE DOUGH FOR SALE: if you would like to buy some please call the school office. There are several varieties of tubs . First come, first served basis.  Thank you!
