We still could use adult workers at the carnival THIS TUESDAY. If you can lend a hand, we sure would love to see you. We need to know by Monday in order to place you at a needed location. Thank you everyone, who is able to volunteer to make this a wonderful day for the students!

ALSO: PLEASE SEND THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ACCORDING TO YOUR CHILDREN’S LAST NAME (IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO).

A-G: $2-$3 – to be used for buying raffle prizes
H-L: 1 dozen prepackaged snack items per family
M-R: One 2-liter bottle of soda or juice per family
S-Z: 4 cans of soda per family

15th Annual Bob O’Neal Junior Table Tennis Tournament

QND Open House

Quincy Notre Dame High School will hold an Open House on Sunday, February 26, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., 1400 S. 11th Street, Quincy, Ill. Parents and students interested in QND are invited to attend.

Parents and students will have the opportunity to meet QND students, parents and faculty, find out more about the 1:1 learning program, explore the school and discover the new things happening at QND.

The schedule for the QND Open House is as follows:

  • 1:00 p.m. – Welcome and overview with Principal Mark McDowell and QND students (QND Cafeteria)
  • 1:30 p.m. – “Ways to Make QND a Reality” presentation with question and answer session about financial assistance, completing the PSAS form, Gene Grawe Fund and more (QND Cafeteria)
  • 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Meet faculty and tour QND

OPEN HOUSE FOR NEW AND INTERESTED FAMILIES: PreK to 8th

Please join us for an informative evening at St. Francis Solanus on Wednesday, March 1, from 6:00-7:00p.m. Families with Pre-kindergarten students will be able to register and hold their spot by attending this event. You will have an opportunity to meet with individual teachers, ask questions, and gain valuable information about the spiritual environment, academics, and programs that we offer. BINGO PRIZE DONATION

Parish Picnic Bingo is in need of prizes. If you would like to donate a prize, please drop it off in the school office. Anyone who donates will be allowed to have a jean day on March 31st. Any questions, please call the school office. Thanks for your help!

QCES Running Club 2017

For the FOURTH year, Running Club is BACK!  It is time again to begin training for the Bridge the Gap 5K!  BTG is Saturday, May 20.  Training begins on TUESDAY, March 7.  It will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00-4:00.  WALKERS and RUNNERS welcome!  GRADES 4-8 (younger students welcome WITH individual parent supervision at ALL times).  We are in need of supervising ADULTS as well, so please join us!  Deadline to sign up is Friday, March 3.  Please email Denise Sangoi at [email protected] with the student’s NAME and GRADE.  Please indicate if YOU are planning to participate with the group as well.  Thank you!  🙂

Quincy Catholic Elementary Schools (QCES) Foundation to Host 2017-2018 Tuition-Assistance Application Information Sessions

The QCES Foundation invites and encourages all QCES families, who wish to apply for tuition assistance for the 2017-2018 school year, to attend one of the two Tuition-Assistance Application Information Sessions to be held on Wednesday, March 8th, and Thursday, March 9th, at 6:30 p.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Church Gathering Area. The Gathering Area, can be accessed from the Blessed Sacrament Church/School parking lot located off 8th St. QND families are invited and encouraged to attend one of the two information sessions, as well. Private School Aid Service (PSAS,) the previous tuition-assistance assessment provider for QCES & QND, was purchased by FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment this past summer. As a result, the application form and the application process have changed. The two information sessions have been arranged by the QCES Foundation to help QCES & QND families feel more comfortable and confident when filling out the new FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment Application. A FINAL REMINDER for all children in Kindergarten through sixth grade

Your Six Flags Read to Succeed reading logs are due NO LATER than Monday, February 27th, 2017 (late entries will NOT be accepted). Each child who has chosen to participate will need to have read a total of six hours and return the reading log back to their teacher.  After turning in their log, the child’s name will be submitted and they will receive a FREE ticket to Six Flags for this summer (tickets are handed out towards the end of the school year)!  If you have any other questions, please contact Mrs. Marshall for more information.

5th Annual Benefit Dinner to support the Mission Trip to Peru for St. Rose Parish.

February 26th from 11 to 2 at St. Rose on 8th and Chestnut. $5.00 per person all you care to eat. (5 kinds of soup with coffee or tea).

Elementary School Chess Tournament

The second annual chess tournament will be held at St. Peter’s Cafeteria on March 4 from 9:00-3:30. Grades K-8 will be included and divided into three age groups. If interested, please pick up a registration form in the main office. Students must be registered by February 24.

Dates To Remember

  • Mar. 1st: Open House from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. (Pre-K to 8th grades)
  • Mar. 8 & 9th: FACTS (previously, PSAS) meeting at Blessed Sacrament 6:30 -7:30 pm.
  • Mar. 10th: Kindergarten Round Up 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
  • Mar. 13 to 17th: Spring Break
  • After School Art on Wednesdays: Please make note that the March 1st class has been cancelled.
