St. Francis School News – October 5, 2018

AFTER CARE SCHEDULE:  Tuesday, Oct. 16th After Care students will need to be picked up no later than 4:15 p.m. that evening. We apologize for any inconvenience.  Thank you for your understanding.

SICK CHILD: It is that time of year.  If your child has been ill (fever or vomiting) they must stay home from school (at least) for the next school day. A child may not return to school until they are fever free WITHOUT medicine for 24 hours.  Please refer to the handbook page 36.  This also helps with spreading of the illness within the school.  Thank you for your cooperation.

PLAYGROUND VOLUTNEERS:  The far west parking lot (across from Underbrink’s) is now used for parking only.  The students will NOT be playing on that lot.  Hopefully this will make it easier for our volunteers to find a parking spot for recess time.

8TH GRADE STUDENTS: for those who sold pizzas for the class trip, pizzas will be delivered to the school on Sunday, Oct. 14th at 1:30.   Pizzas come frozen from Columbia, MO, so if you CANNOT         pick up your pizzas that day, please make arrangements with someone to get them for you etc.  If you have any questions, please call the school office.  Thanks for selling and making this fundraiser a great success and providing funds for your class trip!

GREAT LAKES GREAT APPLE CRUNCH: Thursday, Oct 11, all students, K-8, will receive an apple at their lunch time. For the first time, St. Francis School is participating in the 4th Annual Great Apple Crunch! The goal of the Apple Crunch is to create excitement in schools about local agriculture and nutrition. We have joined with Edgewood Orchards for this event.  They have kindly donated 300 Jonagold Apples! Jonagold apples are a cross between Golden Delicious and Jonathan apples.  They are going to be freshly picked from the trees.  So, whether you are packing your cold lunch or signing up for hot lunch, know that your child will get a fresh, juicy Edgewood Orchards Jonagold apple at lunch on Thursday, Oct. 11th. We will all bite into them at the same time and see how loud the crunch will be!

COOKIE DOUGH SALES:  forms have been sent home with your student.  This school fundraiser is a great opportunity to help raise money for our school and have a yummy treat.  The school gets 50% of the profits!

All forms are due Monday, Oct. 15th and delivery will be on Wednesday, Nov. 14th.  All money is due Monday, Nov. 19th to the school office.

YEARBOOKS They are for sale until March 22, 2019. They are sold separately from pictures this year. If you have any questions or need a form please call the school office.
