St. Francis School News – October 20, 2017

Father Bob– We would like to congratulate Father Bob on his ordination this past weekend in Chicago and thank him for his faith that he shares with our students at Mass and our Prayer Services.  We welcome Father Bob to our school community and are so happy to have him here!  We invite you to help celebrate this holy and joyous occasion on Sunday, October 22nd, after the 11:00 Mass with a carry-in luncheon.

Calling all Trunk or Treaters!  Please join us Sunday, October 29th for Trunk or Treat in our school parking lot!  Participating cars can arrive around 5:30 p.m., Trunk or Treating will begin at 6 p.m.  One creatively decorated car will be a lucky winner of a $25.00 Gene Grawe card!  Always a fun family night.  Pray for a beautiful evening.  Any questions, contact Jane Gregory 242-5302.

CYO will be offering Winter Basketball again this coming season.  Registration will open Nov 1st and will be open to 1st through 8th grade.  The season will run from early January to early March.  All games will be played on Sundays.

The next CYO Karate, 8 week, session will begin November 1.  All classes will be at St. Dominic School on Wednesday and/or Friday nights. The cost is $40 for one day and $60 for two days per week. To register or for more details please contact John Wellman at 217-430-1399.

FUN FRIDAYS IN OCTOBER:

Each Friday in October, the 8th Grade Class will be selling color-changing straws and bottles of water for $1.00 each.  Small snacks will also be available for 50 cents.  We will be set up in the parking lot from 3:00-3:30.  Stop by and support the 8th graders and take home a COOL straw!!

TRIVIA NIGHT: THROUGH THE YEARS. Saturday, Nov. 4th at the Quincy Senior Center.  Up to 8 players per table ($120.00 per table).  Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Trivia begins at 7:00. Help support the QND Pommers.  Bring your own snacks.  Cash prizes fro 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.  Please RSVP by Nov. 1st.  Forms available in the school office.

PANCAKE AND SAUSAGE BREAKFAST: will be held in the Parish Hall on Sunday, October 29th from 7:30 to 11:00

All you can eat for a great price!

LOST AND FOUND: The bench is full of coats and lunch boxes.  Please stop by the school to see if your child is missing something. Or stop by during your parent/teacher conference.  Thank you!

COATS FOR KIDS: Saturday, Oct. 28th , from 9:00 to 12:00 at the Masonic Temple on 5th and Jersey. New and gently used coats, hats, and gloves will be given to children in need of warm winter clothing. Please bring all children receiving the coats with you. Teal Pumpkin District Fest: Washington Park and Downtown trick or treating on Saturday, Oct. 28th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lots of fun activities for the entire family!
