St. Francis School News – January 28th

*NO AFTER CARE ON FEBURARY 2ND.  MORNING CARE AS USUAL

GYM SHOES: Please have your child bring a change of shoes for P.E. class.  The gym floor is getting scuffed by outside shoes and we would like to prevent further damage to the floor.  Thank you.

BOX TOPS: Please keep sending in your Box Tops, HyVee UPC labels, and Campbells labels.  This is a wonderful way for our school to raise funds for items needed.  We appreciate your help!

Service Hours: All 10 service hours must be completed by the end of April, beginning of May.  All hours incomplete will be assessed and a $10.00 per hour fee will be charged per family.  If you have any questions, please call the school office.

WINTER CARNIVAL is coming soon! This year it will be at the beginning of Catholic Schools Week. Mark your calendar and join in the fun on Sunday, January 28th, 2018, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. New games added every year! More information coming home next week. IF you would like to help that afternoon, please contact Jane Gregory at 242-5302.

Mardi Gras: will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 13th.   A volunteer form will be sent home with your child if you are interested in helping during this fun event.

Six Flags Read to Succeed Program

St. Francis is again participating in the Six Flags Read to Succeed Program. This program is for all children in Kindergarten through sixth grade. Each child who chooses to participate is asked to read a total of six hours and return the reading log back into their teacher NO LATER than Monday, February 26th, 2018 (late entries will NOT be accepted). After turning in their log, the child’s name will be submitted and they will receive a FREE ticket to Six Flags for this summer (tickets are handed out towards the end of the school year)! If your child is in one of the relevant grades, they should have brought their reading log and information sheet home already. If you have not received this, or if you misplace your log anytime prior to February 26th, please have your child request a new one. If you have any other questions, please contact Mrs. Marshall for more information.

Lost glasses: I have 3 pair in the office.  Please check with your child to see if they are missing a pair.
