Pre-School – Mrs. Hoosier

Mrs. Hoosier’s Pre-School News

Hello! I’m April Hoosier, I’m very eager to start my new adventure of teaching pre-school. This is my 5th year of teaching, I’ve taught the last 4 years at Madison Elementary School where I taught First Grade.  I’ve been really blessed with an excellent aide Barb Peters, she has been with the program 17 years, she has great ideas and we make a great team together.  Mrs. Peters and I  working together shows the children what it means to be a TEAM! We are looking forward to an awesome year together!

February

Was a month full of surprises and a learning adventures.  We were visited by the upper grades (Mrs.Tenhouse and Mrs. Slough’s classes) during Catholic Schools Week.  The preschoolers loved having the older students help them make valentine’s day cards for the vets.  Then the upper grades came down to play games with the three year olds during the week and that was major excitement for these children.  Our preschool was blessed with getting a new SMART board and iPad to utilize and enhance our curriculum here in pre-K.  I’ve jumped right in using the technology that has been given to our school because our students live in a technology filled world and they are learning through play on both pieces.

Top of the Morning to you all!

March

We started off this month with Happy Birthday Dr.Seuss! Followed by a surprise visit from Seussville…THING 1 and THING 2 came to read One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish to the students it was a great experience for them.  Then we visited Seussville on the SMART Board, WOW this has been a great addition to the classroom as well as my teaching!  I’ve incorporated so many  new learning games and hands-on activities that enhances their desire to learn  letters, numbers, shapes, colors, etc…!!
