The Quincy Catholic Elementary Schools Foundation is pleased to announce that Newcomer’s Scholarship applications are now available for those considering enrolling their child(ren) in one of Quincy’s four Catholic elementary schools for the 2017-18 school year. At the request of the donor, recipients may be either Catholic or of another faith tradition, but the recipient’s family must not currently have any children enrolled in one of Quincy’s four Catholic elementary schools, Blessed Sacrament, St. Dominic, St. Francis, and St. Peter.
The Newcomer’s Scholarship is a partially need-based, non-renewable, full-tuition scholarship that will be awarded to one student whose family wishes to enroll their child in Kindergarten through 8th grade for the 2017-2018 school year. In addition to completing and ubmitting the Newcomer’s Scholarship application form, applicants must also complete and submit the FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment application form, which helps determine a family’s financial need. The FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment online application form can be found on the website of the school at which they wish to enroll their child.
As part of the Newcomer’s Scholarship application process, applicants must also submit an essay of 250 words or less explaining why it is important for their child to receive the QCES Foundation’s Newcomer’s Scholarship, and why they wish to enroll their child in one of Quincy’s four Catholic Elementary Schools. Since the scholarship is partially need-based, the name of the scholarship recipient will remain confidential.
The complete Newcomer’s Scholarship application packet, including eligibility criteria, is now available in the office of each of Quincy’s four Catholic Elementary Schools. Scholarship application packets are also available on each of the four elementary school’s website (http://stfrancissolanus.com/school/school-forms-downloads/), as well as on the website of the QCES Foundation, which is quincycatholicschools.org. The application deadline is 4 p.m. on Friday, March 31st, 2017.
Although the Newcomer’s Scholarship is non-renewable, a recipient will be eligible to apply for tuition assistance in subsequent years. Any tuition assistance a student may be awarded in subsequent years will be based solely on the financial need of a student’s family, as determined by FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment. For more information about the Newcomer’s cholarship, or other tuition assistance that is available, please contact Paul R. Rittof, executive irector of the Quincy Catholic Elementary Schools Foundation, at 217-779-3157 or [email protected].
